Built for everyday compliance work

Less manual checking. A clearer view of what needs attention.

Scattered files and repeated preparation, replaced by one structured workspace a transport manager can work through in an afternoon.

Save time

Stop reading every record in the same depth. Infringements, risk and reminders point you straight at the drivers to debrief first.

Catch infringements before DVSA does

Spot repeat infringements early and deal with them in-house — before they feed your OCRS score or end up in front of a Traffic Commissioner. TachoAssist supports that work; it can’t guarantee a clean fleet.

About 58p per driver per week

Business is £2.50 per driver per month — roughly half the £1-a-week the UK market charges — and each driver is billed once per month however many files you upload. No minimum term.

One focused platform

Everything needed to turn tachograph data into an organised compliance process.

The files stay the same. The work around them gets a lot shorter.

01

Drivers’ hours & WTD

EU and assimilated GB drivers’ hours, Working Time (WTD) and tachograph rules — plus domestic rule sets for the UK and all 27 EU member states.

02

Mobility Package

Full support for the Mobility Package drivers’-hours and tachograph rules, including country records and border crossings.

03

EU fine estimates

For work in the EU, each infringement can show an indicative fine from that country’s national catalogue — France, Germany, Spain and 24 more. A planning aid, not a penalty notice; UK penalties are set by DVSA and the courts, so none are estimated for GB work.

04

Fleet organisation

Drivers and vehicles in one place, organised into groups that match how you actually operate.

05

Reports & documentation

Driver, fleet and vehicle reports in PDF or Excel, plus the official EU attestation form in 23 languages.

06

Risk & deadlines

An internal risk score per driver, and reminders for card downloads (28 days), VU downloads (90 days) and expiring cards.

Infringement analysis

Deal with infringements while they’re still cheap.

Every infringement arrives with its severity (minor to most serious), measured values, a plain-English explanation and the legal reference — so you can debrief the driver this week instead of explaining the pattern to an examiner next year.

Mobility Package

International work, checked the same way as the rest.

Full support for the Mobility Package drivers’-hours and tachograph rules (Regulations (EC) 561/2006 and (EU) 165/2014, as amended) — in the same review, with no separate tool.

  • International driver identification
  • Country entries and border crossings
  • International derogation
  • Weekly rest compensation ordering
  • Rest taken on a ferry or train
  • Return home (optional advisory check)

The eight-week vehicle-return requirement annulled by the Court of Justice is not assessed.

Border Crossings. See recorded crossings on the driver map, in context. Maps show tachograph records, not live tracking, and automatic crossings are recorded only by second-version smart tachographs.

Fleet organisation

Organise your fleet your way.

Keep driver and vehicle records together, then use groups for depots, teams, shifts, regions or contracts.

Reports & documentation

Save time on recurring reports.

Set the scope, format and interval once. Every month after that is a click — for one driver, a selection, the whole fleet or a vehicle — and what comes out is the paper trail a DVSA visit or tribunal would ask for.

The data foundation

Detailed tachograph analysis when you need it.

Every summary is one click away from the raw record it came from — driver card and vehicle unit alike. Upload .ddd, .esm, .tgd, .c1b, .v1b or .a1b files, or a ZIP of the lot.

Compliance support, not legal advice.

TachoAssist supports compliance review. Automated infringements and EU fine estimates require verification and are not legal advice or a definitive statement of compliance.

Questions

Tachograph compliance software FAQ

Essential information about fleet scope, Mobility Package support, download deadlines, fine estimates and responsible use.

What does TachoAssist help fleets manage?

TachoAssist brings drivers, vehicles, tachograph analysis, infringements, reports, scheduled report configurations, reminders and documentation into one browser-based workspace.

Which tachograph rules can TachoAssist help review?

TachoAssist covers EU and assimilated GB drivers’ hours, Working Time (WTD), tachograph rules and configured domestic rule sets for the UK and all 27 EU member states, and provides full support for the Mobility Package drivers’-hours and tachograph rules (Regulations (EC) 561/2006 and (EU) 165/2014, as amended). Automated infringements require human review.

Can TachoAssist analyse international work and border crossings?

Yes. Support includes international-driver identification, border-crossing analysis and maps, the international derogation, weekly rest compensation ordering, rest taken on a ferry or train, and an optional advisory return-home check under Article 8(8a). Automatic border crossings are recorded only by second-version smart tachographs, so an absence of recorded crossings is not evidence of domestic-only operation.

Can TachoAssist analyse driver cards and vehicle unit files?

Yes. TachoAssist analyses driver card files, while the Business plan also supports vehicle unit (VU) files, vehicle events, faults, positions and reports. Uploads can be .ddd, .esm, .tgd, .c1b, .v1b or .a1b files, including ZIP archives.

How often do driver cards and vehicle units have to be downloaded in the UK?

Driver cards must be downloaded at least every 28 days and vehicle units at least every 90 days. Many older pages still say 56 days for the vehicle unit; that figure changed to 90 in 2015. Tachograph records must be kept for at least 12 months and Working Time (WTD) records for two years. TachoAssist reminds you before each deadline.

Does TachoAssist estimate fines?

For journeys in the EU, yes: each infringement can show an indicative estimate from that country’s national catalogue, across 27 member states. For GB work, no. DVSA fixed penalties and court outcomes are not a published per-infringement tariff, so TachoAssist does not guess them.

Is TachoAssist live vehicle tracking software?

No. TachoAssist analyses records contained in uploaded tachograph files. Maps show recorded positions and border crossings from those records, not live vehicle locations.

Does TachoAssist replace professional compliance review?

No. TachoAssist supports compliance work, but automated infringements require review and interpretation. It is not legal advice or a definitive statement of compliance.
